FAQs
What is the scope of benefits of acupuncture?
Acupuncture is helpful for many physical, mental, and emotional concerns. It has been found effective for severe chronic conditions even when pinpointing the cause has been challenging to accomplish. Clients who receive regular, ongoing acupuncture treatment for health maintenance and health promotion often experience:
What about the needles?
Acupuncture needles are solid, slender – slightly thicker than a human hair – and bear no resemblance to syringe needles. We use only the finest quality sterile disposable stainless steel acupuncture needles approved by FDA.
Does the treatment hurt?
The treatment involves inserting needles just beneath the surface of the skin. Sensations vary from person to person with some clients reporting a momentary ache or a tingling sensation while others not feeling any sensations at all.
What will my first visit be like?
Your initial 1.5-2 hour session will include a thorough holistic assessment of your health concerns via discussion (medical history, social history, lifestyle, & diet) and an examination (pulse, tongue, & Chinese medical physical exam), followed by your first acupuncture treatment.
What should I bring with me to my first visit?
Please bring a list of all medication and supplements you are taking as well as copies of any recent laboratory reports.
If you plan to use your health insurance for payments, please see the Insurance & Payment page for more information.
